About Ambika
The Barkingside Centre has been successfully providing tutorial assistance to children who need support with their schoolwork since September 1995. The Centre has been well established for over 18 years with a reputation in the area for Excellence.

The centre caters for both primary and secondary level children with a full range of abilities. Some of our children are high achievers and we stretch them further with their school work. Some simply need support, confidence and enthusiasm to learn.
All material is graded so that progress is constant and accelerated. Children catch up as quickly as possible. The programmes are designed to give the children the motivation to succeed with challenging but attainable and realistic goals.

We tutor in 80 minute blocks and in that time students do about 6 different activities. Some are computer activities, but most are using our written curriculum resources. Each student follows their own personal lesson plan, developed by qualified a teacher to address the difficulties identified in the assessment. It is aimed at their level of understanding and paced to take them to where they ought to be as quickly as they can manage themselves.
