Classes
Initially there will be an information meeting (sometimes at your home) that lasts about an hour. It gives families an opportunity to find out more about the Kumon programme and ensures that everyone is happy with what they will have to do for the student to get the best possible benefits out of their Kumon study. It also involves a diagnostic test to establish the correct level for the student to start the Kumon programme. Kumon learning is individualised, based upon ability and potential and does not depend on age.

Students attend the Centre once or twice a week, when they will do their Kumon set for that day. Depending upon whether they are studying maths, English or both subjects, they will also do oral reading, number boards and mental maths. We see all students whilst they are in class, observe them working, discuss their progress and monitor progression. Taking all these factors into consideration, we set new goals for study. Students stay at the Centre for as long as is necessary to complete all work and see the Instructor - generally between 30 minutes and an hour.

Kumon also involves a small amount of regular work each day, usually about 10-30 minutes, Each student follows an individual programme, starting at a comfortable level to build confidence and to get used to doing Kumon. This also gives students the opportunity to fill any gaps they may have in their knowledge and skills. Daily work helps students to develop their concentration and independent learning skills.

Ages and Levels Covered
Currently students are aged between 3 and 15 years, although all ages are welcome. There may be a waiting list for pre-school children.

Tuesdays 4.00pm-6pm
Saturdays 10.00am - 12.00 noon
