Welcome to Hertford Kumon Centre offering Maths and English tuition.

Classes
Students are set work which is completed, marked and corrected at home. They come into the centre on either one or both of the days that we are open. The work for that day is completed and marked in class. Feedback is given to each student after they have completed their work.
Whilst the Kumon programme does not follow the national curriculum it builds up a solid foundation in Maths and English and many students progress beyond the level they are working at in school. Students are encouraged to use examples to work out how to tackle new work thereby developing independence and confidence in their own ability. Students are observed during the class and are supported where necessary.

At the end of each level students are given an Achievement Test. They receive a certificate with a brief report to take home. Further motivational certificates and medals are awarded at the end of September and March. These bronze, silver and gold certificates mark the extent to which students are achieving above their school level. A single ceremony to celebrate these achievements is held either at the end of May or early June.

I have been doing Kumon for four years now.
Before I started Kumon I hated Maths because I wasn’t very good at it.
When I started Kumon, I became much more confident and started to enjoy Maths. When I began secondary school I was in the bottom Maths set but with the help of Kumon I was moved up into the middle set and I recently got the best results in a test out of 88 children.

Ages and Levels Covered
The Hertford Study Centre has served the local schools in Hertford and the surrounding villages for over ten years.
The students range in age from 4 years (Reception) to those studying for their GCSE's.

The centre is run with the help of five assistants who attend the local secondary schools. Four of the five assistants have studied with the Kumon programme and the fifth is an A-level student studying Maths. One of the assistants has completed the English programme and has almost completed the Maths programme.
