Classes
Classes run on Mondays and Thursdays from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. (last entry 5 p.m.) and operate on a 'drop in' basis within those times. Your child should be with us for approximately half an hour. Before starting study, you child will do some small exercises to determine where they should start on the programme. At class, the student does his work for that day, supported and observed by the Class Assistants. Worked is marked, corrections done and work given to do at home until the next class. Daily work should take approximately 20 mins. Progress through levels is completely at the child's pace and movement to the next level only happens when confidence and ability on the previous level is secure.
Kumon runs throughout the year (when the centre occasionally closes, extra work is given to cover that period) and students are expected to study on a daily basis.

Ages and Levels Covered
Students at the centre currently range from 3 to 17 years.

Centre Director(s)
Caroline Lyons has been the Instructor at the Helsby & Frodsham Kumon Centre for over four years. She has a B.A. (Hons) in English and a PGCE. She has formerly taught KS2 primary children and worked as a Special Needs Assistant in a secondary school, especially involved in literacy support and working with dyslexic teenagers.

About Us
Kumon was established more than 50 years ago with the aim of producing the greatest learning effort in the shortest time, through self-learning - its success is clear as more than 4 million children in 46 countries study Kumon every day! It is a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. The expectation is that most children will study for at least 12 months, many continue for much longer realising the benefits of working on topics which they have not yet met in school.
