The Linton Kumon Study Centre is one of over 600 Kumon centres across the UK. The Kumon Study Method was developed in Japan over 50 years ago and aims to encourage students to become independent learners.

Classes
After an initial assessment, a study plan is devised with targets and goals set. Initially, the work is aimed at developing the students study skills and ensuring that all the foundation building blocks are in place. Progress is closely monitored with feedback being given at the end of each session. Students progress at a rate which is suitable for them and their learning style. Written work is completed in class, marked and corrected if necessary. Daily homework is provided until the next class.

Ages and Levels Covered
Tthe Kumon method of learning aims to develop study skills and independent learning. It is suitable for all ages from pre-school to adult, but it is especially popular for primary and secondary school students. Students of all abilities are welcome.

Opening Times
Mondays and Thursdays between 3.30 and 6pm. Students attend for approx 30 minutes per subject.

Mrs Karen Tumber has been the Linton Study Centre Instructor for the last 16 years.She originally trained as a microbiologist, spent 8 years as a medical researcher and then became an Instructor after seeing the benefits of the Kumon Method first hand when her own children attended Kumon classes.
