Preparing to take the 11+ Exam for entrance to a Grammar School can be a great way for your child to build up their verbal and non-verbal skills. One way to make the preparation a lot more fun and efficient is to incorporate games and activities. For example, playing board games such as Scrabble can help build vocabulary skills.
Another way of making preparation fun is to get your child interested in completing Sudokus, Code Word games, Cross word puzzles and other brain teasers. Remember that these tests are assessing how well your child can decipher, decode and problem solve.
By beginning early, around age 8, your child will build these essential skills and can feel confident when it is time to take their exam. Children learn best when they are motivated, encouraged and having fun. So the more fun you can make their preparation, the better. Good luck!
