A-level Ancient History

For students who have in interest in Ancient Egypt, and are perhaps encountering the subject for the first time there are a couple of books I would like to recommend.

For those who are interested in Ancient Egyptian history and culture, and are new to the field I highly recommend Barbara Mertz's Temple, Tombs, and Hieroglyphs: A Popular History of Ancient Egypt.  This book is delightful to read for both the avid scholar or keen amateur.

For those who are more interested in the art of Ancient Egypt I suggest Gay Robins' The Art of Ancient Egypt.
