Sciences are sometimes seen as tricky subjects at school, but this doesn't need to be the case. Biology is the science of life, and the A-level syllabus contains a wealth of fascinating subjects containing something of interest for everyone. The subject can open up differently when it is first approached from the most interesting topic, expanding from there onwards.
It may be a good idea to get a comprehensive text book such as Biology (Collins Advanced Science) by Michael D.P. Boyle and Kathryn Senior. The subjects are explained in very good language, using plenty of diagrams, metaphors and memory aids to assist in learning.
3-dimensional web tutorials can also be a good way to get to grips with some of the aspects of molecular and cell biology. I use www.moleculesinmotion.com to find images and diagrams to aid in the tutorials.
