A-level Biology

I have put up some resources for preparing for A and AS level Biology.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/websites/16/index.shtml

BBCs fun and interactive learning website for A and AS level studies, including Biology , English , Maths etc.

http://www.mrothery.co.uk/

A web site for AQA biology –both A and AS level. It explains each module separately. There are also links for practical classes at the bottom of the web page. It has a link for several power point presentations on trickly topics which is good as a teaching resource as well.

In my humble opinion one of the best books for revising AS and A2 Biology –AQA Board.

Revise for the entire AQA board at A and AS level using this website. There are the omnipresent chapters by chapter explanations and the quizzes are really fun! It also has a distance learning website and you can also order for books on their website.

For those out there who like online education. There are also resources for homework and practicals.

Very simple website but with revision card style site. There are also summary notes and quizzes.

http://www.coursework.info/

Help with Essays and coursework for both GCSE and A level Biology

http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/index.htmA web site brought by the Welcome trust.  Although not a resource guide for just A and AS Levels, there are a lot of interesting things related to science beyond the exam board. The animation site on this web site is simple and educational. Fun for students and good teaching tool for students. The section on creative encounters gives a list of Welcome -trust funded projects which inspires young people to learn science. Teachers can also subscribe to the mailing list for various conferences.

….and finally when you have passed A and AS levels and are looking for options as to what to do next, this website will inspire and educate about your career choices.

http://www.beep.ac.uk/content/index.php

Good website for students who are looking for a little extra apart from their syllabus. Excellent resource page for teachers. ‘The how Science works’ tab is a must visit !

Good website for all teachers, parents and students. This has’ innovative methods to help students and tutors tap their unique and natural processes ensuring success in learning and teaching

Happy learning !!
