A level Biology is a very interesting and fast paced course. Many of the exam boards now require a lot of application of knowledge and interpretation of data. it is so crucial that you read the question properly. It is very helpful to take a highlighter into the exam with you and manage your time e.g. say a mark a minute in the exam room.
For revision I like to encourage students to plan their time with 15 minute breaks each hour and draw up a rough revision schedule. I think it's also good to put rewards in from mum and dad too for meeting targets and working hard!
Some of the revision techniques and tools I use with students are flashcards, mind maps ( drawn from the CPG revision guides), timed practise at past papers and testing each other with a friend.
Biology is a great subject to teach and study as theres so many careers open out there such as medicine, physiotherapy, nutrition and it links well into sport courses!
Some great Biology resources include the BBC news homepage; .http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/, http://www.guardian.co.uk/, http://www.spolem.co.uk/, http://www.biotopics.co.uk/wwwlinks.html.
These websites are great to extend your knowledge and interest and help with revision! Also New Scientist and Biological Sciences review are great magazines to pick up and read!
