The story of DNA and genetics is an intriguing one, as initial plant breeding experiments showed the significance of an inherit component in cells which will determine the phenotype of organisms. Many years later after the first discoveries were made of the essence and structure of DNA we have now reached many milestones in the field of genetics which can help progress the field of medicine with developments in the diagnosis and personalised treatments of diseases.
