A-level Maths (Further)

I have been teaching at various levels - GCSE, A-levels and university level students. The key to understanding any subject at any level is getting the basics right. As a teacher, I feel it is extremely important for a student to get the basics strong if a student has to get a liking towards the subject. This not only gives more confidence but helps grasping the subject faster at later stages.

With more than 30 students at school being taught at the same pace, the bright students can get the most out of the classroom teaching but most of the students find it hard to cope up with the speed at which subjects are taught and this gets tougher specially at the higher levels. Each child has its own learning ability and each takes different time to learn. A parent is not doing justice with the child if they are saving money by not considering the need for a private tuition if they see their child struggling with studies.

My suggestion to students is:

Never get bogged down by the complexity of a subject! Determination to learn along with good support can help not only in achieving the desired grades but getting a liking towards a subject.

My suggestion to parents is:

The extra focus and tailored attention which is provided by one-to-one private tuition can be the decisive factor that will make the difference to successful learning and good exam grades, ensuring that your child is able to fulfil his/her academic potential.
