Maths for Aliens of The 2- or 3-Fingered Variety

(This refers to my article "Felix and the Two-Fingered Alien")

  Humans count in units, tens, hundreds (100=10x10), thousands (1000=10x10x10) and so on. Similarly, the blue two-fingered alien counts in units, twos, fours (4=2x2), eights (8=2x2x2), sixteens (16=2x2x2x2) and so on. The yellow three-fingered alien counts in units, threes, nines (9=3x3), twenty-sevens (27=3x3x3) and so on. So what would the human's 9 look like for these three different species?

Human 9

Blue Alien9=(1x8) + (0x4) + (0x2) +1 ....so for this alien 9 would be 1001

Yellow Alien  9=(1x9)+(0x3)+(no units) ... so for this alien 9 would be 100

Similarly, what would the human's  22 look like for these three aliens?

Human   22

Blue Alien 22 = (1x16) + (0x8) + (1x4) + (1x2) + (no units)......so for this alien 22 would be 10110

Yellow Alien 22 = (2x9) + (1x3) + 1......so for this alien 22 would be 211

Just as humans like to add numbers together, so do aliens. What happens when they each add the human's 9  and 22 together?

      So the human's 31 translates to the Blue Alien's 11111 and the Yellow Alien's 1011.
