The exam period is a very stressful time for most students and can affect your revision and your performance on the day of the exam. During this time, it is important not only to set aside time for revision but to remember to set aside some time to relax. There is a lot of pressure on students to do well and acheive high grades and this can lead to anxiety and sleep deprivation which in turn can lead to poorer performance during the exam.
In order to perform to the best of your ability on the big day, you should start to revise as early as possible. Plan a revision timetable and try to reward yourself for sticking to it. Most students cannot concentrate for more than two hours and for some students 1.5 hours is a more ideal length of time to spend revising one subject. Be realistic about how much material you can cover in the time you have allocated for revision.
Remember to do lots of past papers and when you get something wrong, make sure that you get it corrected and make sure you understand the answer. Practise and review things regularly, especially things which you find difficult. Above all, make sure you get a good night's sleep before the exam in order to feel refreshed and ready for the exam.
I hope that by following these tips, you will breeze through your exams. Good luck!
