I became a tutor because Maths is a subject that too many young people are experiencing difficulties with in this country. My ability to do Maths well was one of the worst kept secrets in my family when I was growing up. This resulted in my uncles and aunts asking me to help my younger cousins get through their SATs and GCSE Maths exams in 2008. After a few sessions, one of my cousins were told me that I had managed to teach them topics that they had spent weeks struggling with at school. Another said that the way that I explained things suited his learning style much more than his school teacher's.
Word got back to my other relatives about my tutoring capabilities. Unbeknown to me, my aunts and uncles were so proud of what I had managed to achieve that they began telling their friends, some of whom had children that struggled with Maths. Shortly after this, I began tutoring these children, with great success.
It was at this point that I began to take tutoring much more seriously, honing my skills in various ways over the past two years. I find tutoring thoroughly enjoyable, and my services have spread across South London because my customers are invariably satisfied.
