Bass Guitar

A book I would highly recommend to Electric Bass players of any level, be it beginner, intermediate or advanced, is Joel Di Bartolo's Serious Electric Bass: The Bass player's Complete Guide to Scales and Chords.

It is a very clearly laid out book which starts by dealing with some of the basic and correct techniques of playing the electric bass, particularly concerning the left and right hand technique of the player. The warm up exercises are ones which I have found very useful in my own playing and often tend to teach my students. They teach you the correct hand positioning for both the Left and Right hand whilst also building up and training your stamina and stretch as an Electric Bass Player.

What's more, all the examples are shown with diagrams, but scored in music notation which also allows the player to gain an understanding of musical notation rather than Tab which a lot of other 'Bass Guides' tend to rely on.
