Cello

I come from the opinion of both Kodaly and Jaques-Dalcroze in that all musical learning must take place via the ear not the intellect. The teaching methods of awakening the senses and training the ear should always precede that of notation.

In younger pupils, putting in practice the use of games, movement creativity and improvisation enables students to internalize the rhythms and perform using the whole person. This makes a more enjoyable and successful learning experience.

For a mature student, these principles can be easily transfered.
