Cello

It took me many years to realize that there is no 'arrival' when learning an instrument, no point at which you think that you are complete and that you have completely mastered your instrument.

I used to find this frustrating but over the years I have come to understand that it's about enjoying the journey. Musicians are constantly improving and developing; like a sportsman, you have to keep practising to stay fit and that discipline becomes an integral part of our lives.

The sense of constant improvement, however slow and stumbling this may be, gives an incredible sense of purpose and achievement.
