Cello

I began learning the cello later than most (aged 10) meaning many ideas and techniques were harder to grasp. My attitude was also difficult for my parents as I was at the age where I expected results immediately! However, I grew to love the warm tone and with the perseverance, patience and guidance from my parents I worked through the "teenage" years and my passion for music continued to grow.

Having given and observed many lessons with young children and their parents, I have no uncertainty that children are effected far more by their environment during the early years, and I am constantly surprised by their capabilities and enthusiasm. The Suzuki method certainly demands a strong commitment from the parent(s) but it has been fantastic to see how many families have risen to the challenge, and had great fun together as a result.
