Clarinet

Why did I become a teacher?

I have wanted to become a music teacher from a young age.  My inspiration was from my clarinet teacher who taught me for about fifteen years.  At first I was learning for my own enjoyment.  I was asked to play in my primary school in the annual Christmas concert.   I found it so enjoyable I then decided to pursue ABRSM exams.  From then my eyes were opened to new repertoire for the clarinet and meeting new people through my love of music.

Music is a language in its own right.  No one needs understand the language but everyone can associate it to their own individual circumstances.  It can communicate feelings for all occasions and this is very powerful.  To be able to create that emotion in an individual is a very special talent.

I want to be able to pass on my own experience and knowledge to the youngsters of today.
