Classical Percussion

Many people enjoy playing the piano and by learning to read music and understand the piano we develop some general musical skills which are easily transferrable to other instruments, particularly percussion.

The great advantage with playing percussion is that music-making becomes a social activity rather than just playing the piano on your own. If you are confident enough to use your musical skills to play percussion instruments there are a whole variety of musical groups that you can take part in, from rock bands to gospel choirs, from orchestras to brass bands....they all need percussionists with a good range of skills.

So why not give percussion a try? You might be amazed at how quickly you find your musical skills develop and how much enjoyment you can get from putting them into practice with other musicians!
