Classical Saxophone

The saxophone is one of those instruments which seems to constantly be a 'Piggy in the middle' figure of the musical world. In learning the saxophone however, you open yourself up to several worlds of possibilities.

On the one hand there is the world of the classical saxophone, which is increasing in size, even in the time I have been studying. Then there is the world of the jazz saxophone, one of many varying characters, and there is also a brilliant new world of 'Crossover' material, where performers have studied both elements and choose to incorporate them both into their programs.

This can result in a bit of a "best of both worlds" feeling. However, whichever side of the saxophone you prefer there is no end of possibilities once you play your first note.
