Classical Singing

I think the key to enjoying and progressing in your singing lessons is to learn in a safe, relaxed, non-pressured environment - with a teacher who has a firm grasp on healthy singing technique and good performance skills.  I have had many teachers in my time as a pupil. Some have been good and some not.

Both the good and bad experiences have taught me a lot about the art of singing teaching: The most important element to being a good teacher is to treat each pupil and their voice as an individual and not to apply generalised technique ‘rules’ without a continuous evaluation of the pupil’s response, physically and emotionally.

There are many technique theories that are widely agreed upon as being correct, among experienced, good singing teachers. As long as these theories are applied with care, sensitivity and an awareness of the pupil’s development and way of learning, then the pupil should progress and enjoy their lessons.
