Drama

Just a brief message for all acting students to start with: Always keep your ears, eyes (and your heart) open to everything around you. Do go see as much theatre and performance as you can possibly fit into your schedule, but also don't forget to look at the world that surrounds you everyday; in class, on the tube, at home, on the street, in a shop, everywhere!

Look at people, their faces, their bodies, the way they hold and conduct themselves, how they move, for expample, HOW they eat, HOW they hold a book when they read. Pay attention to the pitch and tone of someone's voice, their accent, the speed of their speech and thought.

Look, and learn. Simply store it all in your head. There is a wealth of ideas out there...which you can then take and use...but more about that next time!
