Early Years Music

Having recently completed a Creative education course, I have been made aware how important and useful music making is for the under 5s. Not only can they enjoy taught songs, but they have wonderful imaginations for creating music, which they are able to do both vocally and with percussion instruments. This form of musical improvisation can be used with a huge range of topics, to making learning fun and creative.

I believe music should be a part of everyone's lives and should bring enjoyment whether by playing, performing or just listening. Therefore it is vital that we begin this musical enjoyment from an early age by allowing children to play, create and improvise through music despite their musical ability.
