The rising demand for English speakers is growing, and so the need for "perfect" English skills is increasing. Many countries are now rapidly trying to improve their English skills to keep up with this rising demand. But is this demand purely business related?
I personally do not think it is. People searching to find ways to improve their English are doing so for two main reasons. The first reason is because they have moved to an English speaking country and so they need English to survive. For me this is the main reason for this sudden rise.
The second reason is related to business and the desire to help companies expand. English now appears to be one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and according to research is one of the top three languages.
This growing demand has seen the development of online EFL lessons which aim to improve all areas of English; from grammar to pronunciation, and all four English skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening). This new style of lesson has proven to be a great success and is constantly growing in popularity with the introduction of various websites.
It seems that many EFL teachers are now opting to teach English online as it saves money not only for the student but also for the teacher as there are no extra travel expesnes. Also many teachers feel that the students who choose this method are more likely to succeed as they are more relaxed due to the lesson taking place in the comfort of their own home. Students also appear to be more motivated which in turn has a positive effect on the lessons as a whole.
This method of teaching is also very flexible and so can fit around family and work commitments. I, myself, am an online EFL teacher and I find it very rewarding and enjoyable, and I would recommend this form of learning to everyone.
