English as a Foreign Language (EFL)

It's a wonderful thing to speak several languages and teach them to other people, helping others to learn foreign languages.

I am fluent in 4 languages. I fell in love with English when I was in Year 5 and we started to learn a foreign language at school. I was lucky enough to have English. After a couple of lessons I was so thrilled with the language that I went home and told my mother: I want to be an English teacher. I followed this dream up to the end of grammar school. In Year 9 we started to have lessons about the history of English literature. They opened my eyes to the marvellous world of English literature, culture and civilization.

Then in Year 9 I started to learn French which was another big challenge for me. At the end of grammar school I decided to study both languages at university. Having two foreign languages to teach opens up a different way of looking at the world. It's a real pleasure for me to teach these foreign languages, to help others to learn. It's not easy to learn a foreign language: you must have motivation, perseverence and a lot of practice. I never impose myself  too much, I have patience and understanding for the students. It's important to know sutdents' limitiations, and thus encourage those who are less talented/capable to learn a foreign language.

It's such a big reward for a teacher to see at the end of a school year or course that pupils are able to communicate in that foreign language.
