Essay Writing

Essay writing can sound daunting but, in fact, it allows students flexibility in handling a specific subject.

First, you have to clearly identify what you want to talk about in your essay, whether it is for a question given in an exam or a more general essay. It's absolutely necessary to read the question twice or three times at least, to see what is expected of you. After this, to get a feel for the subject, you have to read in even more detail and start analysing every word used in the question.

Once this is done, you can begin to jot down any ideas that come to mind and seem to you to relate to your subject. Jot down ANY ideas, no matter how weird they may seem; you will then be able to sort out these ideas and put them into categories.

Each category can then be used to draw up a draft for your essay.
