Finding a teacher that is right for you is one of the most important steps in learning an instrument!

Every person has a different method of working and every student has different weaknesses and strengths. Throughout my musical life I have experienced a multitude of teaching methods; some that have inspired me to play, and unfortunately some that have made me, at times, want to give up! I believe a huge part of our ability to pick up new skills and improve is related to positive thinking. As a teacher, I am a big fan of this. I therefore use the route of encouragement to inspire my pupils to practise.
