Flute

The Flute by Ardal Powell is an intriguing book about the development of western transverse flutes in Europe and later in America.

Starting out as shepherds' flutes, transverse flutes have transformed very much instrumentally. As flutes have been popular throughout almost all eras, their development has an intense interaction with social history.

Very informative as well as entertaining!
