French

Learning a foreign language can be easier than it seems.  School pupils often have sketchy knowledge of the basic building blocks that are required and this can be fairly easily remedied. Often, too, vocabulary needs to be built up on a week by week basis.

For adults the same thing applies. There are several course books available that get you started really quickly, that are useful for beginners or 'false beginners', those people that have learnt French at school without a lot of success and want to take it up again. The BBC 'Talk' series of books and CDs is excellent for helping you to start speaking after a couple of lessons.

Mastery of a foreign language can provide real and lasting pleasure. Never again do you have to keep saying 'do you speak English?'
