Advice for GCSE Exam Revision
1.Use GCSE revision guides - these books usually highlight the key words and ideas you need to focus on.
2. Revision must be started as early as possible - do not leave it for the last 10 days before the exams start. You should make an organised plan, giving yourself enough time so you avoid the stress of last minute cramming.
3.Take a break from time to time from your studies (maybe every hour or so). Do something completely different like watching your favourite programme on television, or talking to your family etc. then come back to it with fresh mind. Have confidence in yourself and believe that you can achieve anything you want.
4.Everybody has a different style of learning and different time of the day which is best for learning. Find out the best style for you for learning. For examplem, you need to write down the important facts, or write down the key words, or practice questions from past papers or use all these techniques - but you must alwayas test yourself to make sure that you know the subject thoroughly. Time of the day is also very important. Everybody works best at a certain time of the day, the time of the day at which they are able to concentrate most. Find the time best for you and make sure you work the hardest at this time.
5. Finally you must test yourself to make sure that you have a good grasp of the subject. You must also practise exam questions to learn how to answer a question to gain full marks for that question.
