The student must be willing to put the time and effort into succeeding which involves managing time efficiently and finding out how to learn. Using a timetable should help manage time between school, social life, homework/ revision. Finding out the best way you are able to process information, thus remembering is a handy skill. Some people learn through pictures (colourful mind maps), physically doing something (memo cards with answers and questions), repetition (writing out a sentence until you remember).
I would advise that the student learns a topic in sections or ''chunks''. This is done at school; however most students do not process the information and do not remember this the following day. It is therefore a good idea to re-write your school notes into a format you will remember either by using mind maps, pictures, repetitive reading or writing or using memo cards. Once the student has remembered this information their knowledge can be tested using past papers.

Or alternatively any textbook relative to the syllabus.
