GCSE Biology

Most students see Biology as a bore, and a waste of their time. If they only knew the places that this subject could take them!

I can speak from personal experience that Biology is one of the most interesting subjects that students have the chance to study. But only when it is conveyed to them with context and enthusiasm!

I will use some prior employment to demonstrate this.

I have had the luck of working in many interesting jobs, including working with a wolf pack in the USA, where I helped to raise four wolf pups, studying their behaviour and their interactions with adult wolves.

I have also raised two wild Serval cats in Malawi, Africa. I had the pleasure of raising them, studying and documenting their behaviour, and then releasing them into the wild when they were 6 months of age. This was not the end of the task however, as they were then tracked using radio collaring to build up a picture of their behaviour in the wild.

It is through experiences like this that I am able to convey the relevance and enthusiasm of this great subject to students, and instill in them the wonder and excitement that will enable them to achieve their highest grades in their exams.

By changing the tedious task of learning into one of excitement and hunger, I believe I am able to get the best results from students, ranging from challenged students to the most able students.
