No one pupil learns the same as the next, yet we insist on launching them into a classroom day in day out, in the vain hope that in Year 11, they will manage to gain the 'correct' number of GCSEs.
We all learn differently and as a teacher, I adapt my teaching to the requirements of individual pupils by allowing for VAK - Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic learning to take place within my classroom through mindmapping, making presentations, video, songs, simple note taking, bullet points, cartoons, drama, creating puppets and many, many more.
The best way to revise is to figure out what type of learner you are and then use appropriate techniques to adapt the informatio given to you in lessons.
The following website is helpful in determining this:

Once you know your learning style, you can adapt your classwork for revision using the following techniques:
Visual: make video presentations using your mobile phone that illustrates a particular issue discussed in class, create mind maps so that you have a visual image to remember key points with.
Auditory: create songs, poems, mnemonics of the subject information. Tape yourself reading notes and play back.
Kinaesthetic: create plays, puppet shows, diagrams and models of key points from lessons.
You must be proactive in your revision - only you have the ability to succeed!
