If you struggle with remembering FACTS, don't panic! There are many different ways in which people's brain's work, and some people are just naturally better at remembering some things than others. The further on you progress through education, the less emphasis is placed on facts, instead you are expected to analyse and interpret events/individuals in history, which in my opinion is far more exciting! So if your struggling now, don't give up, there are methods to help you to go into the exams with the important facts memorised. The best way I find for memorising facts is flash cards - you can purchase these, but if you make your own, even the process of writing out - on one side of the card the question (e.g. what are the dates for World War One?) and the answer on the other side (1914 - 1918) - will be helping the information to start to stick. Flash cards are really handy to carry around, and the best thing is you can test yourself, so if you haven't got a friend or relative around who you can pester into helping you it doesn't matter. If however, you do manage to get someone to test you, they won't need to know anything about your topic because the answers are all written down - so no excuses from parents now!
