In fact, most of what we own and use on a daily basis would not have come into existence without certain people having an excellent knowledge of various mathematical concepts.

So what’s the point in maths? Ask around and add to the never-ending list.

Campaign Manager “I use algebra all the time for determining my targeting. It’s surprisingly useful in many different careers I have had.”

Seamstress – “I use a lot of trigonometry to find out how many pieces to make, how big to marks them including the seams.”

Commodities broker- “I use algebra on a daily basis even using formulas to calculate basic percentage averages for certain types of commodities on a given day. If it weren’t for algebra, I wouldn’t live the lifestyle that I live today.”

Plumber – “I use the quadratic formula to solve equations.”

Inventor and Engineer- “If it wasn’t for certain aspects of maths I wouldn’t be able to make anything work.”
