Pupils will often ask why they have to take GCSE Science when it's not required for their future career choice.
What many pupils don't initially appreciate is that not only does science teach them the essential course content, but it also teaches them a wealth of transferable skills that will be useful in any career choice.
Some of the transferable skills that science bestows on its students include; report writing, problem solving, graph drawing, presentation skills, accuracy with regards to measuring, team work, social skills, an inquisitive nature, observation skills and the ability ot think outside of the box to name but a few.
