There are many reasons why someone might decide to get a tutor. Maybe the subject you wish to study or the skill you wish to learn is just not available in the local school or college; maybe you have tried to learn it on your own, or with a website and you just need a little input from someone face to face; or maybe you already have lessons, but you feel you need that extra help to achieve the grade you desire.
Many people engage a tutor to help them keep up with their classwork. Sometimes this is because they are struggling with a subject; sometimes it is because they have missed work through illness or sporting commitments; or occasionally because they have moved school and suddenly find themselves about to take an exam in a subject with a different exam board. In all of these cases, the tutor is there to help.
Tutors provide a structure to your learning. They may help you with revision or teach the subject from scratch. They provide a one-to-one learning atmosphere that is impossible to achieve in the classroom. If you don't understand something, the tutor will be able to spend the time going over the tricky part until you do 'get it'. It can make the difference between mediocre and superlative grades. It can re-inspire the flagging student as their way forward finally becomes clear.
Why choose a tutor? Because there is no substitute for individual attention.
