Handwriting

Correctly formed writing early on, and later joined-up-handwriting, aids spelling and is important as children need to write more quickly as they progress up the school.

Books which are helpful to teachers include Rosemary Sassoon, Handwriting - The Way to Teach it, and as an encouragement for older pupils, Memory Motivators - Handwriting Rescue Kit - which contains activities.

If possible, the tutor should teach a similar style to the school the child attends, bearing in mind that different schools use different styles of handwriting.
