For anyone studying Japanese academically it is not long before the pain of learning kanji hits you!  However, there are loads of really useful websites from everything to kanji dictionaries, flashcards, quizzes, and even free translation websites.

Here are a couple of links that got me through my degree:

http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1R  (multi-radical kanji dictionary)

http://www.yakugo.com (translation software)

http://rikai.com  (paste Japanese text in the box to get readings for the kanji)

http://www.alc.co.jp/  (really useful dictionary which gives example sentences from the press)

http://www.easyjapanese.org/flashcards.html  (flashcards for beginners)

http://www.manythings.org/japanese/  (fantastic site with flashcards, vocab quizzes and lots of different learning tools for all levels)

Hope you find these helpful, enjoy!
