Jazz Double Bass

I believe strongly that teaching music shouldn't just be on page and that students benefit from learning how to improvise (in which ever musical language). I specialise in teaching jazz music, which is largely improvised, but there is room for it in whichever genre, such as cadenzas in classical music, rhythmic improvisation in Indian classical music and the occasional drum/guitar fills in pop music these days.

All these aspects are very important in music, as it takes it off the page and creates excitement in which ever musical contexts. In the past I have looked through a lot of improvisation within musical styles with students and it has been very successful in their musical learnings to strengthen their aural skills and musicality.
