I would like to put forward a list of ideal jazz standards that provide a great starter repertoire when learning jazz:

Blues: Freddie Freeloader, Blue Monk

Minor Standard: Autumn Leaves

Swing Standard: There Will Never Be Another You

Modal: So What

3/4: All Blues

Funky: Chameleon, Watermelon Man, Cantaloupe Island

Bop Blues: Straight No Chaser, Au Privave

Bossa: Blue Bossa

Ballad: My Funny Valentine

Most, if not all, of these can be found in "Real Books" and are a great place to start.
