Jazz/Folk Guitar

I think the best way to learn to intermediate or even advanced level on guitar is to develop a fluid legato style which enables you to perform smooth melodic lines that have a dynamic to them.

Developing your picking is essential for any electric guitar player.

Learning to pick alternately with speed, efficiency and dynamic range can really help you to emphasise your phrasing.

Finally, learn harmony inside out, and study the way melody connects to harmony including altered chromatic or even passing atonal harmony.

STUDY is the key: practise, practise then practise some more!
