Jazz Trombone

The most common question I get asked is, "Where do I start?"

My advice is listen, explore and try! Find someone you love, someone you would love to play like, it doesn't matter what grade or level you are. Listen to them, explore them, e.g. what bands did they play with, look them up on the internet, read about them, then when you feel you're ready try and play just a little bit of the record you have, even if it is just a bar, keep trying if you find it hard, it's worth it!

Here are some jazz trombone players you could check out:

Dennis Rollins

Jack Teagarden

J.J Johnson

Fred Wesley

Robin Eubanks

Mark Nightingale

Slide Hampton

Curtis Fuller

Frank Rosolino

Good Luck!
