Key Stage 3 English

Whether you absolutely love reading already, or if you actually can't abide the thought of sitting down with a book, students are always being told to read more. So how can you find a book that you might find interesting?

Of course you could ask your teacher, friends or even librarian, but there's an even better way! Impress everyone with your knowledge of new books by looking at websites dedicated to local and national book awards. Many of the books on these sites have been chosen by students just like you. They are usually judged on criteria such as Enjoyment, Engagement and Enrichment (what you learn about from them) so are usually the best of the best.

Have a look on these sites, then why not read a few of the books on the shortlists or recommended reading lists? Just check with mum or dad that they are suitable for you first. Many have age guidelines to help you and them to judge this.
