This book is written as an adventure story to illustrate the unfolding of spiritual awareness in the narrator (whose name we never learn) and the people he meets along the way. The awareness is not linked to any religion, but to the inner being of each person, and to the next step of our evolution. An ancient manuscript has been found in South America which details nine Insights. If we are aware, then mysterious coincidences lead us forward. The insights show how humankind has needed secular and technological development, but now recognition that we live in a universe of energy which we can influence and direct is the next step forward. The Insights show why humans struggle for power, why we need to connect with our inner power, release past patterns, believe in our intuition, how to treat and uplift others and evolve an entirely new culture. However, the organized church are also determined to get their hands on the Manuscript, as they are understandably nervous of the 'revolutionary' message and its undermining of the status quo. There is a race between the adventurers and the bishops, backed up by soldiers, to save the manuscript. Who will get there first?  

Around the story, which is well written and full of suspense, are thought provoking ideas and truths. If you are a person who is already following your own spiritual path, or beginning to think along those lines, then this is a book to re-affirm or develop your ideas further. If you have not read anything like this before I would highly recommend it. It is an extraordinary book.
