Musicianship

Dear all

Here is a very short list of introductory books and scores for adult beginners willing to improve their keyboard, music theory and general musicianship skills:

For keyboard skills:

- The Classic Piano Course (by Carol Barratt) 3 volumes.

- Really Easy Jazzin' About (Pam Wedgwood).

- Classics to Moderns - a 6-volume collection of pieces that progress gradually.

For music theory:

- The AB Guide to Music Theory: Part 1 & Part 2.

For classical western music history:

- A History of Western Music (by D.J. Grout and V. Palisca).

Finally, do not forget to obtain a comprehensive music dictionary. You will need this to get into grips with the essential music terminology.

Enjoy!
