Being able to play the piano is a remarkable gift that some pianists do not realise. So many people are in awe of someone who can play the piano. So often you here the saying 'I wish I was able to play the piano.' The answer to this is 'why not'? It can actually be achieved. Whether you are an adult learner or have a child that has the passion and potentially the opportunity to blossom as a musician, perhaps it is something that cannot be ignored any longer. It is never too late to learn and it is never too early to start.

My 1st piano teacher was a bit scary and at the age of 9 it felt like a punishment exercise going to a piano lesson (even going to school was more fun!). When moving to secondary school that all changed. Going to lessons with a talented, friendly and truly inspirational teacher who knew how to get the best out of their students set the foundation to eventually achieving an honours degree in music. After 21 years of playing the piano you can take the time to sit and think that actually I do have a talent for playing the piano. I'm glad I took the time to learn and I would be passionate and understanding to new students who are looking to develop their talent for the piano.
