Smart Practice

Very often pupils are extremely good at playing the opening bars of a piece but as the piece goes by, the performance quality decreases.

One of my many former teachers used to tell me to practice the harder sections first, every time I sat at the piano. Practise these more often that the parts I was good at.  

Any opinions?
